Elephants Have Played a Wonderful Part of Movies and TV for Years

Elephants are often portrayed in movies and TV shows as nice, friendly animals and the roles that are played onscreen are usually interesting and heart-moving. Elephants in real life are admired and loved by many.

Some famous TV and movie elephants include Elephant Master in Power Rangers: Jungle Fury, the Elephantitan in Power Rangers in Space, Horatio the Elephant on Sesame Street, Dumbo in the movie Dumbo and Horton in Horton Hears a Who.

The original Dumbo movie was an animated 1941 film by Walt Disney. Jumbo Jr. is the main character in the movie and was nicknamed “Dumbo” because he had big ears; however, the big ears allowed him to fly by using them as wings.

Dumbo’s mother, Mrs. Jumbo, gets her baby from a stork and before long, the baby elephant is ridiculed because of his big ears. Mrs. Jumbo gets mad at a group of boys for making fun of her son and she is locked up. Dumbo is then left alone and only has one friend, Timothy Q. Mouse. At one point in the movie, Dumbo and Timothy wake up in a tree and decide that Dumbo had flown up in the tree. He amazes the circus audience when he flies. Dumbo becomes famous and popular.

Another famous animated elephant was Horton in the movie Horton Hears a Who! The movie begins in the Jungle of Nool when a drop of water falls from a leaf and causes a dust speck to fall from a flower. The very imaginative elephant, Horton, goes swimming in the pool. the dust speck floats past him int he air and he hears a tiny sound coming from it. Horton believes that an entire family of creatures are living on the speck.

Elephants have always seemed to be a part of nature that is extraordinary and enjoyed by many, whether it be at the movies, at a zoo, or in the jungle!
